How We Treat
COGNITIVE BehaviorAL Therapy
COGNITIVE BEHAVIORAL THERAPY (CBT) is a short-term, goal-oriented treatment that provides you with many tools to intervene on your own behalf. This practical approach is learned through collaborative problem-solving between you and your CBT therapist. Once successful, you should expect new learning to have taken place leading to greater ease in world, improved adaptive thinking, increased pro-social behavior and an improvement in mood. Your CBT therapist will teach you to take a pro-active and hands-on approach, so that you can use these tools strategically and ultimately incorporate them into your day to day living. You will have these skills for life.
BHBA therapists are highly effective at treating anxiety, including Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Social Anxiety Disorder, Panic and phobias of various natures, as well as OCD and trauma. Under Dr. Bellet’s direction, all therapists are trained through the prestigious Center for the Treatment and Study of Anxiety at the University of Pennsylvania, including specialty training from researcher and developer of exposure therapy for OCD and trauma, Dr. Edna Foa.
